Over 300 Grade 9-11 students from across Prairie Rose School Division gathered at Carman Collegiate on Thursday, May 28 to take part in a cultural awareness day. University of Manitoba professor and keynote speaker Kevin Lamoureux talked to students about perspectives, culture and how to understand differences and accept “otherness”. Students shared lunch and participated in a gallery walk featuring displays about the culture of each of the five high schools involved. Results of a survey completed by students will be used to form a cultural awareness team of interested students.
