Student Insurance

Parents are asked to consider Reliable Life Student Accident Insurance which provides 24-hour coverage for all accidents at school, home or play. The Student Accident Insurance Program provides coverage for medical, dental, disability or accidental death and dismemberment insurance on behalf of students.

sai_09Protection is also provided for dental damage due to accident, fracture benefits, emergency ambulance services and other important coverages, which are not Government Insurable Health Services.

Additional information on this voluntary Program is available at www.studentaccidentinsurance.ca/schools

The Division also participates in the Universal Student Accident Insurance Program. This program does not replace the voluntary coverage through Reliable Life, but rather complements it. It provides coverage for all students while at school, on the playground, while participating in any school-approved activity, while travelling directly to or from their residence and school or to any school-approved activity, including physical activities taking place as part of the grades 9 to 12 Physical Education Curriculum as approved by proper school authority. Students are not covered while engaged in non-school related activities.

Benefits under this Universal Student Accident Insurance Program include a lump sum for loss of life or dismemberment due to accident, ambulance coverage, dental coverage, and reimbursement for other specified benefits, subject to specified limits. Please contact the Division Office for more specific information and for claim forms.
