Director of Student Services
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that Louise Duncan has been appointed as the Director of Student Services for the Prairie Rose School Division.
Louise’s career began in 1998 at Miami School where she was a grades 5 – 8 classroom teacher and later as a K – 12 Resource Teacher. In 2006, Louise’s expertise as a Resource Teacher was shared between Carman Elementary and Miami School. The following year, she was full time with Carman Elementary. Louise has held the role of Vice Principal/Resource Teacher at Carman Elementary since 2008.
Louise is a graduate of Miami School. Louise holds a Bachelor of Education Degree, two Post-Baccalaureate Certificates, a Special Education Certificate, a Special Education Co-ordinator’s Certificate, and a Level 1 School Administrator’s Certificate.
Louise currently serves as President Elect – Manitoba Reading Association and as Co-Chair of the MRA’s 3rd Adolescent Literacy Summit: Transforming Adolescent Literacy. Louise is also the current President for the Pembina Escarpment Reading Council.
Louise has co-presented with Kimberly Mackey, Social Worker/Counsellor, St. Paul’s Collegiate, at the Canadian School Board’s Association Congress (July 2013, Vancouver) and at the Safe Schools Manitoba Conference (January 2013, Winnipeg).
Louise will start her new role as Director of Student Services on August 1, 2014.
