St. Laurent School Vice Principal

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Crystal Millar-Courchene as the Vice Principal for St. Laurent School effective September 3, 2019.

A former graduate from the St. Laurent School, Crystal holds a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education – Indigenous Knowledge through the University of Winnipeg. Crystal has completed year one and two of Administrative Leadership Training with her current division. Crystal began her career at the inner city elementary school level and has expanded her career as an Aboriginal Education Support Teacher, a Professional Learning and Leadership Centre Support Teacher, as well as providing Program Support Services focusing on literacy, math, and Indigenous education for the Winnipeg School Division. She received the Aboriginal Circle of Educators (ACE) – Culture in Education Award in 2017. Crystal’s impressive professional development involvement includes leadership development, Indigenous education, French immersion, mentorship training, Fountas & Pinnell, Reading Recovery, and many others. She has presented for many events including SAGE and the Treaty Education Initiative.

Crystal is a lifelong learner committed to education, Indigenous learning, professional development, and students. PRSD welcomes Crystal to the St. Laurent School and looks forward to additional administrative support she will bring to St. Laurent students and staff.
