ROLAND SCHOOL – PRINCIPAL
On behalf of the Prairie Rose School Division’s Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that Melissa Benner has been appointed as Principal of Roland School effective September 2021.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg.
Melissa has been a contributing and respected member to public education within the Prairie Rose School Division. Melissa’s teaching experience includes a teaching principal assignment at Boyne View School from 2003 to 2006 and various teaching assignments at Roland School from 2007 to present.
Melissa’s current position is as a .50 FTE Kindergarten and .50 FTE Prairie Rose Teachers’ Association President. Melissa has served a term as Roland School’s Acting Principal from August 2016 to January 2017.
Melissa believes strongly in Roland School and she will bring a leadership passion and commitment to her new role at Roland School. Melissa believes that it is the relationships and connections that a principal makes with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the community as a whole that makes a school stronger to provide successful learning opportunities that enhance student learning and achievement.
