St. Laurent School is recruiting for a vice-principal effective the 2020-2021 school year. This 1.0 FTE position consists of 0.5 FTE vice principal and 0.5 FTE Indigenous Academic Achievement Coordinator.
St. Laurent School is a K-12 system located in St. Laurent, Manitoba, which is approximately 87 kilometers northwest of Winnipeg, MB, on Highway #6. St. Laurent School has a professional and support staff compliment of 32 for 187 students.
The vice- principal will provide positive and supportive school leadership as he/she works with the St. Laurent School staff and its community in promoting and strengthening the following PRSD priorities:

- Student Learning – Achievement and Engagement
- School Leadership
The vice-principal will be an effective school leader and a collaborative educator as he/she works with St. Laurent School and its community to promote lifelong learning that is consistent with Prairie Rose School Division’s Mission, Vision and Values. Cultural competency in the area of Indigenous Education is required as is the ability to lead inclusivity throughout the school community.
The selected candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of instructional leadership with a focus on data driven student achievement in the areas of early, middle, and senior year’s literacy and numeracy. The candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills, demonstrate the ability to implement educational goals, and have knowledge of technological applications in an educational setting.
The selected candidate will be a demonstrated life-long learner who has a Bachelor of Education degree and who is either working towards or has completed a Masters’ degree in education administration, special education, or curriculum development. A Level II Principal’s certificate is considered an asset.
